I wanted to do a Bachelor in Management and was looking online where I found information on SHMS. I decided to get some work experience before I started at SHMS, I worked for a month and loved it!After I graduated, I went to the US to do a one-year corporate Management training with Hyatt and was then offered a position as Assistant Front Office Manager. During my corporate training, I realized that I really enjoyed the sales aspect of the industry, so when another SHMS alumni proposed a job as Sales Executive at the Sheraton in Abu Dhabi, I jumped at the opportunity. I have now been here for four months and I love it! I would call it my career highlight thus far as I am doing something I really want to do and it is a foot in the door to my dream career.
One of the most important skills I learned during my studies was time management. This was especially important for my BA and a skill I now use in my work every day.
My advice to future students is to make sure that this is what you want to do because in this business, your smile needs to be genuine!”
