A week of firsts at SHMS Caux

My first impression of SHMS Caux was … beautiful campus and friendly people.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … how open-minded everyone was.

Through my first interactions with students and teachers I thought they were … warm and helpful.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … how quickly the family-feeling came thanks to living so close together.

During the first welcome party … I saw how many different cultures were present at the school giving the opportunity to practice my cross-cultural communication.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … how vastly different what is normal in my culture could be from another.

Following my first introduction week … I was starting to master how to navigate Caux Palace.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … that being on time in Switzerland actually means arriving 5 minutes early!

After my first class … I realized that homework was a part of my new reality.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … that all of our teachers had real-world experience which made their approach seem more like storytelling rather than a lecture.

Upon my first outing outside of school … I was introduced to the sporting activities that I could participate in and experienced different kind of parties in our school bar Grotto.
I was unexpectedly surprised to learn … that one of my favourite things to do is simply go for a walk in the beautiful environment surrounding the school.
