AcademicsIHTTI School of Hotel Management relocates to Vaud and will share Swiss Hotel Management School’s two campuses in former Palace hotel locations

Montreux, 4th July, 2019 – Swiss Education Group, the largest private educator in Hospitality and Culinary Arts in Switzerland, reinforces its activities in the Canton of Vaud. In the interest of building synergies between our institutions and in improving the student experience, from September 2019 the 250 students from IHTTI School of Hotel Management (IHTTI) will join Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) on its campuses in Caux and Leysin while still keeping its own identity. IHTTI’s unique programme with its specialisations in Hospitality and Design Management will continue to be delivered, in academic partnership with the University of Derby and accredited by the renowned Chartered Society of Designers.

The move will also allow both institutions (SHMS & IHTTI) to expand on their course offerings, and for the first time the bachelor’s degree will have 3 pathways. The Hospitality and Hospitality & Events Management pathways will be offered by Swiss Hotel Management School, and the Hospitality & Design pathway will be offered by IHTTI School of Hotel Management.

SHMS has been successful as an Apple Distinguished School and the intention is to promote and extend the advanced technological teaching methods. In Caux and Leysin, 21st-century technology is blended seamlessly with traditional surroundings, which is a particularly good fit for IHTTI and its innovative design programme. SHMS and IHTTI students will also have the opportunity to share certain classes with each other and will have the chance to work together on major events and banquets throughout the academic year.

Our priority is to ensure that the student experience is the best that it can possibly be. We are confident in the relocation of IHTTI and in its shared campus concept as students from both schools will benefit from a more diverse and stimulating surrounding

says Florent Rondez, CEO of Swiss Education Group.

A shared campus has already been proven a successful experience for 2 other member schools, César Ritz Colleges Switzerland and Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland. Hospitality and culinary students have the opportunity to live alongside each other, learn from one another, create banquets from start to finish across all departments and develop a greater understanding of the real-world hospitality environment.

In line with its Vision 2025, Swiss Education Group reinforces its commitment to Switzerland and continues to invest heavily in its development within the country, with over 10 million Swiss Francs invested in the past year in the infrastructure of its schools (specifically the Freddie Mercury Private Hotel in Montreux and the Apicius Building in Le Bouveret (a state-of-the-art culinary training centre for the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland students).
