The hospitality industry has grown continuously over the last half century. In 1950, there were 25 million international tourists and by 2014 this figure had increased to 1.1 billion. Our industry currently represents 9% of the world GDP and 1 out of every 11 jobs worldwide is in the hospitality sector. This is a powerful market and continually expanding with new positions and opportunities. In today’s environment, the hospitality business provides a perfect career solution, offering a safe and exciting workplace with much diversity. Over the next 12 years, the industry is forecast to maintain growth at a steady rate of 3.3% per annum, reaching 1.8 billion international tourists by 2030.
This consistently positive growth means that we need to remain flexible and adaptable to the changing face of tourism. Thanks to technological developments, the consumer experience is evolving and new possibilities are only a click away. With the advent of Uber, Airbnb and review sites like TripAdvisor, customers have all the information they need at their fingertips. Peer-review systems highlight the importance, now more than ever before, of high-quality hospitality training to meet expectations. Awareness of emerging trends and staying proactive in our approach to the education of future generations is essential. This is why we nurture close relationships with our industry partners, allowing us to stay ahead of the curve and keep ourselves well positioned.

We make sure that our students are as equally well prepared for their future careers from a practical perspective. All of our students undertake 2 work internships while studying with us as part of their curriculum. We also founded the International Recruitment Forum that is now in its 20th edition. This unique, bi-annual event is exclusive to Swiss Education Group students. With 135 companies a year attending this 2-day event, it unites over 4,500 students seeking that all-important internship, management-training programme or full time position. There are 145 hospitality industry presentations and 50 roundtable discussions including such topics as diverse as luxury resorts in remote locations, contemporary room trends, career mapping, and talent assessment. Each student averages 2 job interviews during the forum, serving them with the perfect springboard to launch their professional career.
