How does it feel to be recognized in this way?
Making the top of the list is a huge success for us and we are so thankful for all TripAdvisor users for this! It’s been an absolutely incredible year for us!

1 year later, what has changed for you since topping the list?
The biggest change we have felt is that guests’ expectations are much higher since the recognition, but internally our approach to customer service remains exactly the same.
With 49 rooms in the hotel, we are able to provide personalized service to each guest and treat everyone that stays in our hotel as a family member.

Is there a secret behind finding success with TripAdvisor?
Our hotel is owned by a parent company based in New York City who understands the value that TripAdvisor can bring therefore has focused on the site since the beginning. Our team takes each and every review seriously on the site and try to ensure we have a very short response time (less than a day). If we receive a negative comment, we immediately have a board meeting about what happened and discuss what we can do to solve the issue.

Within 3 months after the opening, we made it to the #1 position in Budapest and under 2 years we were #1 in the world.

What types of reviews do you value as GM?
When a review mentions our staff (often by their names), I know that we are doing something great! I love reading these!

Why did you choose to study at SHMS?
My dream was always to become a General Manager of a hotel and this is why I chose to study hospitality in Switzerland.

My years studying at SHMS were some of the best years of my life!

Now that you’ve reached your goal of becoming a General Manager, what’s next?
I’m still fresh in the role, so for now I plan to work hard and prove that our owner’s choice appointing me was the right decision.
